Sharing a collection of great restaurants for a day trip to Fukuoka.

I had yakitori in the Omoide Yokocho alley in Shinjuku. The tsukune and negima, eaten while breathing in the smoke at the counter seats in the narrow alley, are superb. The combination with a highball is simply divine. The Showa-era atmosphere remains intact, making it a top choice for a sightseeing tour.

I had Kaisendon for breakfast at the Tsukiji Outer Market. The Special Don, topped generously with tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe, is the epitome of freshness. You should go early in the morning to avoid the short lines, and be sure to try the Tamagoyaki skewers while browsing the market.

I ate Tsukemen and Ieke Ramen in Ikebukuro, a ramen battleground. The Tsukemen, featuring thick noodles dipped into a rich tonkotsu fish sauce broth, was particularly impressive. Since it uses a ticket vending machine system, ordering is easy even if you don't know Japanese.
