Fukuoka Yatai & Tonkotsu — The nights in Hakata are long
The highlight of Fukuoka is the yatai (food stalls) that open in the evening. The yatai along the Nakasu River open around 6 PM, and since popular stalls fill up quickly, it is recommended to visit in the early evening. Most yatai are cash-only. For tonkotsu ramen, enjoy the kaedama (noodle refill) culture, and note that many places accept motsunabe orders starting from two servings.
