Conquering Daegu's 3 Delicacies — Makchang, Napjak Mandu, and Ttaro Gukbap
This course selects the highlights of Daegu's Top 10 Delicacies. The standard itinerary involves enjoying flat dumplings and kalguksu at Seomun Market during the day, and finishing the evening with makchang at Anjirang Gopchang Alley. Since prices are similar at most places in Anjirang Alley, you can simply enter whichever place has a seat available; however, ordering Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi is easier if you are in a party of two or more. Be sure to check the day of the week, as many shops at Seomun Market are closed on Wednesdays.

Seomun Market
서문시장
Daegu's largest traditional market, famous for its kalguksu and sujebi alleys. Bringing cash speeds up your ordering process, and the night market is open from Friday to Sunday evenings.

Misungdang flat dumplings
미성당 납작만두
A long-standing restaurant considered the originator of flat dumplings. They are eaten dipped in soy sauce and green onion seasoning, and the combination of dipping them in spicy tteokbokki sauce is also a local favorite.
Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi Alley
동인동 찜갈비골목
Spicy braised short ribs served in an aluminum pot in the alley. Mixing the leftover sauce with rice is the highlight, so ordering extra rice is a must.

Kookil Ttaro Gukbap
국일따로국밥
Opened in 1946, it is the originator of Ttaro-gukbap, where rice and soup are served separately. It is crowded even at early hours due to the large number of customers seeking a hangover cure in the morning.
