Jiufen Red Lantern Street Snack Road — Yuyuan (Taro Dumplings) and Amei Tea House
Jiufen reaches its peak at sunset when the red lanterns light up, but the alleys become incredibly crowded. It is better to explore the snack alley on Jishan Street in the early afternoon and view the lanterns from the stairs of Shuchi Road. The famous Yuyuan (taro dumplings) are available hot or cold, and since the line for the last bus to Taipei is long, it is recommended to descend before 7 PM.
